How you'll make an impact:

As a Broadcast Maintenance Technician at SiriusXM, you are in a front-facing role where you provide first line technical support for Studio personnel, Remote Users and Talent.

You will be a key player contributing to our 100% On-Air uptime goal by utilizing your troubleshooting skills, knowledge and experience to support the Broadcast facility and Flagship studios of SiriusXM.

Project work is an important aspect of the role, helping to improve workflows and increase our level of technology. You will be an active contributor and implementer of Sirius XM Broadcast Projects and will have the opportunity to work toward the goal of leading projects.

What you'll do:

This is a shift work position in a 24/7 facility. During your shift you will review systems operations logs, install software and firmware updates to a range of broadcast specific hardware and general-purpose computers both physical and virtual. You will assist and troubleshoot technical issues for both in-house and remote studio users. You will work in coordination with your colleagues across the US on network issues or data flow bottlenecks by analyzing log reports and using your logic and troubleshooting abilities to isolate and resolve troubles or escalate to the next tier of expertise via escalation procedures. As part of the troubleshooting, ticketing of issues and reporting/communicating of status to management and affected teams will be required.

What you'll need:

Requirements and General Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands on technical experience in broadcast or media content creation facility

  • College degree in a technical discipline or equivalent military or industry experience.

  • Knowledge of standard MS office suite, Visio and AutoCad

  • Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Work independently and in a team environment

  • Project professionalism in all forms of communication

  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and be comfortable on a ladder

  • Must be able to work on-site and all shifts required in a 24x7x365 broadcast and production facility (i.e., days, nights, weekends, holidays)

  • This position requires the use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As required by ITAR, to perform this position you must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Technical Experience

  • Configuration and support of various desktop/server operating systems

  • Virtual infrastructure/computing support

  • Installation and support of varied broadcast/production software

  • Digital and IP-based audio/video routing, playout and recording systems

  • Broadcast consoles and related studio equipment

  • Basic understanding and troubleshooting of data network routers, switches, firewalls, and circuits using Splunk, Solarwinds, and Wireshark or similar tools

  • Installation and deployment of systems, networks, and structured cabling within a broadcast facility

  • Satellite downlink operations and hardware support

  • Ability to diagnose, detect and isolate equipment faults by equipment log review and analysis of signal flow documentation

  • Ability to read and create schematics and data flow documents (AutoCAD/Visio)

  • Knowledge of configuration of Telos, LAWO, Evertz, and other media encoding devices is a plus

  • General Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus

  • Incident ticketing and management using ServiceNow
