Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Receives exposure to all basic functions of assigned group within the financial industry
  • Exposed to a wide range of tasks including research, administrative and correspondence work and attend meetings
  • Provides assistance in projects
  • Gains valuable insight within a variety of functions while strengthening core skills and knowledge needed to launch a successful career
  • Responsibilities will vary by internship

This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Requirements

  • A college student who has interest in developing technical skills and gaining work experience
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week for 10 weeks

The Real Estate Banking Intern serves as the primary analytical support for Coverage, Credit Products, or Real Estate Capital Markets bankers in the origination and execution of real estate banking products and services. Interns are expected to split time between a) supporting live deals and pitches across the full spectrum of products and services and b) research/analytical support. The Real Estate Banking Intern will support teams in one of the following segments: Real Estate Corporate Banking, Income Property Finance, Homebuilder Finance, Regions Affordable Housing, or Real Estate Capital Markets.

Focus Areas:

*Develop and maintain detailed financial models to assess properties and depict projected financial results

* Conduct extensive financial and industry due diligence to evaluate the risk/return parameters of a transaction

* Ensure high quality of client deliverables by having strong written communication skills and attention to detail

*Prepare written material, including pitches, proposals, client materials, and associated supporting analyses

*Maintain proprietary databases through monitoring news, current events, transactions, and financial information for clients, prospects, and other industry participants

*Understand client needs and identify Regions products and services, or other unique, actionable ideas that can help clients achieve their goals

*Provide expert service with a high sense of urgency in the coordination between the coverage team of bankers and the Credit Products partners to ensure alignment with our mission of delivering the whole bank to the client with speed, certainty, and creativity

* Support Relationship Managers with call planning coordination, production/pipeline management, and ensure quality reporting across all sales performance applications and measurement systems

Successful candidates will be expected to assume a substantial amount of responsibility. The Real Estate Banking Intern will be required to work in multiple roles and on multiple projects, both independently and as part of a team.

Locations include Dallas, Atlanta, Charlotte, Birmingham, Great Neck, and Tampa.
