First Transit is looking for a Gatekeeper in Baltimore, MD. Our Gatekeeper are an integral part of daily operations. Gatekeepers are safety professionals who focus on attention to detail to ensure that our fleet is prepared for daily operations. Our Gatekeepers are responsible for:

  • Ensuring the departure of vehicles and vehicle operators in a timely manner while attending the gate
  • Ensuring fleet is operational and prepared for proper roll-out at all times
  • Assisting with the coordination of vehicle exchange and vehicle operator replacement as needed
  • Facilitating the movement of vehicles as necessary to ensure on time performance
  • Assigning vehicles as needed to ensure successful pull outs
  • Communicating through two-way radios and telephones
  • Opening and closing the facility as needed
  • Collecting DVIRs and maintain log in procedures are being done properly.
  • Making sure all vehicles are properly equipped with materials needed to assist with operator performances
  • Assigning vehicles and remind the operator to arrive their trip on the rangers
  • Making sure all equipment needed ready and available to drivers as needed
  • Maintaining order and control of the gate and lot

To qualify as a Gatekeepers, you'll need:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1-3 years lot experience
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Data editing and organization skills required
  • Stand for long periods of time, kneel, squat etc
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Excellent verbal, written and relational communication skills, with ability to appropriately interact with employees
  • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
