Description

We are seeking a Part-Time Construction Manager - Electrical to be based at our client site in Arlington, VA!

Overall Responsibility:

Provide overall management and direction for an aviation field project working in the electrical construction discipline.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee the administration of construction documents for electrical engineering projects including central utility plant (CUP), terminal facilities and systems, airfield lighting and systems, and utilities.
  • Experience initiating and maintaining liaison with prime client, A/E contacts, contractors, and regulatory authorities to assist construction activities.
  • Experience monitoring/controlling construction through administrative direction of prime contractor(s) to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget.
  • Ability to ensure contractors meet and comply with all quality, safety and industry standards, procedures, and requirements.

Secondary Functions:

  • Experience representing the owner, client, and company in project meetings.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing interim and completed project reports.
  • Ability to convey project results and findings by means of oral discussions, presentations, and project documentation.
Qualifications

Needed Skills:

  • Experience as an electrical construction project manager for various airport terminal facilities and systems; parking facilities; airfield, ramps, taxiways and runways, navigational aids, utilities, and cargo facilities at a medium and/or large air carrier airport.
  • Ability to create and maintain productive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.

Education/Experience Minimum:

  • Four-year engineering (or architectural) degree, or equivalent combinations of training and related experience.
  • Minimum 15-25 years of experience/knowledge of design, construction, operations, and management.
  • Thorough understanding of aviation industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential.
