WilmerHale is a leading, full-service international law firm with 1,000 lawyers located throughout 13 offices in the United States, Europe and Asia. Our lawyers work at the intersection of government, technology, and business and we have a steadfast commitment to quality and excellence in everything we do-a commitment reflected in the continued success of our clients across the globe.

We are committed to recruiting, retaining, developing and promoting the best legal talent. Accordingly, the total compensation package--for all lawyers at the firm is highly competitive with that of other major law firms.

Our Financial Services practice is widely recognized as one of the leading practices in the United States with decades of experience representing a broad range of clients before the Federal Reserve, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Deposit Insurance, OFAC, FinCEN, the Treasury Department Departmental Offices, and state banking regulatory agencies.

We regularly advise on the gamut of complex regulatory, supervisory and enforcement challenges facing financial institutions today, including permissible structures and activities, regulation of foreign banking organizations, anti-money laundering and sanctions compliance, transactions with affiliates and insiders, electronic banking and commerce, and corporate governance. We help our financial institution clients ensure that they are in compliance with applicable law, regulations and supervisory guidance; we advise on effective management of risk events and internal investigations; and we counsel on effective regulatory engagement and the remediation of supervisory findings and enforcement actions.

We are seeking candidates with three to six years of post-JD experience to join our practice in New York or DC.

Qualified candidates will have experience in the following areas:

  • Familiarity with federal banking laws and regulations, including the Bank Holding Company Act, National Bank Act, the Federal Reserve Act, and related bank regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience advising on supervisory matters, transactions, or enforcement actions.
  • We are also looking for applicants who have specific experience in AML and sanctions matters, and have knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, International Emergency Economic Powers Act, and related regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor
  • Attorney must be licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based.
  • Successful candidates will have excellent writing skills, strong analytical skills, and a willingness to positively contribute to a collaborative work environment.
