Job Description

Overview

The Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) is a public health preparedness and emergency response organization in the Office of the Secretary at the United States Department of Health and Human Services. ASPR was created under the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act in the wake of Hurricane Katrina to lead the nation in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the adverse health effects of public health emergencies and disasters.

Responsibilities
  • Finalize improvement plans as appendix for after-action documentation for ASPR wide distribution (ASPR Portal)
  • Track anticipated completion dates in improvement plans and send automated reminders to action officers requesting status updates
  • Assist CAP personnel with:
    1. Organizing after-action data for proper records retention
    2. Tracking deadlines
    3. Coordinating interviews
  • Generate timelines for ASPR responses based on publicly available data, ASPR notifications, coordination calls, interviews, etc.
  • Assist with and/or develop after-action documentation which may include, lessons learned memos, best practices documentation, summary of conclusions, quick look reports and after-action reports
Qualifications

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field

Required Experience

  • 2-4 years of experience
  • Knowledge of MS Outlook with immediate knowledge of other Microsoft 365 applications - Teams, OneNote, Lists, Power BI, Planner, Forms, etc.
  • Ability to communicate clearly (both orally and in writing). Ability to write in active voice
  • Ability to consolidate meeting/interview transcripts into succinct summaries
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to self-motivate with emphasis on time management

Required Clearance

  • Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance
