POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) is embarking on an ambitious project to implement the next generation of its treasured patient registry and is seeking a Change Management Lead to define and execute a robust change management strategy. This position will be a key member of the Patient Registry development team and work closely with CFF Registry operational staff and colleagues across the organization as well as external stakeholders such as CF care team members, researchers, and people with CF and their families to support the success of a multi-phase rollout. The Change Management Lead will be part of the CFF's central Strategy function, integrated into the organization's operational practices. This position facilitates effective decision-making, drives compelling communication, recommends conflict resolution, and creates actions and structures that maximize the CFF's ability to navigate change.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's national office is located in Bethesda, MD.Candidates outside of the local area must be available to work either Eastern or Central time. For candidates located in the MD, VA, or DC region, this is a hybrid role and requires two to three days per week in the Bethesda office. Candidates located anywhere in the U.S. outside of the MD, VA, or DC region are eligible for remote work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Apply a structured methodology to develop and execute a comprehensive change management strategy including the following aspects:

  • Conduct a change impact assessment to understand the degree of change for impacted groups.

  • Working with external vendors and the CFF communications team as needed, build a communication plan and lead the development of key messages, materials, presentations, talking points, FAQs, etc.

  • Working with external vendors, oversee the development of a detailed training plan including logistics, content, and resources.

  • Lead stakeholder management including coaching staff and supporting CFF sponsors to lead through the change and proactively manage risks.

  • Support organizational design and definitions of roles and responsibilities.

  • Develop a sustainment plan to measure success and monitor change progress.

  • Manage and engage the Change Champion Network in meaningful ways to help implement and guide change activities.

  • Assess feedback received during the testing stage and use to validate future activities, adjusting the approach to ensure readiness at go-live.

  • Facilitate the creation of success metrics, and after go-live, continue to track success metrics and deliver end-user training, education, and remediation, as needed.

  • Determine resources required to execute change management activities, secure support through internal staff and/or external vendors, and manage change team and deliverables.

  • At all stages, integrate the change management plan into the project plan and larger organizational plan, adapting to best align with the overall project delivery.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree along with 10+ years of relevant work experience including 5+ years of experience in organizational change management approaches, tools, and techniques and strategic communications.

  • Credible and experienced change management expert with strategic insight and proven capability to drive results across a mid-size organization; change management certification or designation highly desired.

  • Experience leading and organizing training on both change and technical aspects.

  • Experience in organizational assessment, design, and development; performance management; business process improvement, financial operations, human capital management, and/or customer experience management.

  • Familiarity with enterprise-scale software architectures, application development methodologies, and deployment/operational considerations.

  • Demonstrated success leading a significant transformation project in healthcare and/or involving external parties (e.g., customers as end-users) preferred.

  • Knowledge of Prosci / ADKAR Change Management methodology preferred.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent project management skills and demonstrated ability to operate independently.

  • Excellent analytical skills with experience developing and reporting on success metrics.

  • Ability to work with cross functional teams.

  • High degree of comfort operating effectively in a matrixed environment.

  • Ability to build, nurture, and maintain relationships with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
  • Reports to the Chief of Strategy. No direct reports.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Travel a few times per year to meetings and events and more often to Bethesda if located outside the Washington, DC area.

The salary range is $120,000 to $150,000. Specific salary varies based on geographic location and is commensurate with experience.
