BREAKING NEWS: New PR Hire Helps Reingold Dominate Social Impact Industry

Call us ambitious, but the headline above is pretty close to our vision of the ideal public relations associate. Reingold's media and public relations team has a record of national news placements and a roster of high-profile clients - and we're looking to deepen our bench. If you care about good journalism and good causes, this may be the job for you.

About the Role
Reingold is seeking a midlevel (3+ years' experience) PR professional and communications consultant who is eager to lead and develop media relations strategies for our clients in the public and private sectors.
Working with a supportive team of senior and peer mentors, you'll help determine when to move a message forward and when to pull it back from the public eye. In this business, the only thing more important than the right timing is the right message (but you knew that already).

Day-to-day activities include, but are not limited to:

Earned Media and Public Relations

  • Pitching reporters, editors, and others in media.
  • Managing media relationships, story placements, and online distribution of materials.
  • Building and managing media databases.
  • Conducting landscape analyses, competitive analyses, and media audits.
  • Managing thought leadership activities.
  • Writing public relations plans for clients.
Project Management
  • Providing input to project managers and executive leaders.
  • Developing creative solutions to client issues.
  • Serving as the client point of contact or in a supporting role.
  • Anticipating, identifying, and resolving problems that threaten timelines, budgets, or completion of key projects and client deliverables.
  • Ushering all materials through internal Reingold processes (creative, editorial, events, social media, user experience, web, etc.).
This role is a good fit for someone with the following qualifications and skills:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience working in one or more of the following or similar settings: communications agency, in-house PR department, newsroom, press office, or Capitol Hill staff office.
  • Understanding of the news cycle and news hooks.
  • Strong public speaking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use metrics to inform strategy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables.
The following are preferred qualifications for this position:
  • Knowledge of Meltwater and PR Newswire.
  • Experience in crisis communications or event planning.
  • Experience in media relations for the federal government.
Reingold offers competitive salaries, a comprehensive benefits package, a hybrid and collaborative work environment, a fun (and sometimes zany) workplace culture, and growth opportunities in a variety of specialty areas. That means that when we find good people (and they find us), they stay around for the long term.

Reingold's headquarters is in Alexandria, Virginia, and we also have an office in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Reingold is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment and providing equal opportunity for individuals of all abilities. If you require assistance or need accommodations at any stage of the application process due to a disability or medical condition, we encourage you to reach out. Please feel free to email or contact a member of the HR team at 202.333.0400.

Reingold has a policy of maintaining a workplace free of drugs and alcohol. Reingold will ensure a safe, healthy, and productive work environment for our employees and others. The unlawful or unauthorized use, abuse, solicitation, theft, possession, transfer, purchase, sale, or distribution of controlled substances (including medical marijuana), drug paraphernalia, or alcohol by an individual anywhere on Reingold premises, while on company business (whether or not on Reingold premises), or while representing the company is strictly prohibited.
All employees and applicants are hereby advised that full compliance with this policy is a condition of employment at Reingold. Any employee who violates the foregoing policy will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

Applicants must have authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. We are currently unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa.
