Who We Need

Sabel Systems requires a Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE) Governance and Materiel Distribution Processes and Initiatives Task Lead to assist a headquarters-level Department of Defense agency in planning the movement of forces for deployment and redeployment, sustainment and retrograde, as well as synchronizing all elements of the DoD logistic system to deliver the right things to the right place at the right time to support the joint force commander. The candidate will work on behalf of the Marine Corps, with the JDDE community of interest (COI), which connects Service, Department of Defense (DOD), and other government agency movements under the end-to-end distribution coordinating authority exercised by Commander, United States Transportation Command (CDRUSTRANSCOM) as the Distribution Process Owner (DPO). An ideal candidate understands how the Deputy Commandant for Installations & Logistics (DC I&L), as a member of the JDDE COI, must leverage organic and commercial capabilities to support materiel movement from the point of origin/source of supply through the point of need to the point of employment or consumption. The candidate will assist LPD as the lead for JDDE Governance and Materiel Distribution Processes/Initiatives. The position requires a strong foundation in transportation and logistics management, knowledge of DoD and Marine Corps logistics policies, as well as project management. The successful candidate possesses knowledge of the Defense Transportation Regulations, understands Service-level strategic goals and challenges. Desired skills include excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving, analytical thinking, inter-service coordination, and time management. He/she will be required to participate in the planning, management, and reporting of a high-visibility Service-level End-to-End (E2E) project.

DDE Governance and Materiel Distribution Processes and Initiatives Task Lead will provide analytical and technical expertise in the area of distribution management
* Attend meetings in a non-decision making role
* Assist Government leadership in developing, maintaining and promulgating Marine Corps logistics policy
* Assist in the preparation of memorandums, letters, papers, briefings, and other documents regarding material distribution related issues
* Support LPD by recommending and preparing draft policy guidance to include but not limited to:
o USMC container policy to include leasing and purchasing and assist in providing oversight to Logistics Command regarding operational container issues
o USMC Distribution Manual
o USMC Marine Corps Air Ground Task Force Deployment and Distribution Policy
* Respond to queries/initiatives from field activities and other DOD, OSD, Joint Staff, (JS), USTRANSCOM, Federal Agency, and commercial entities
* Ensure project milestones are met
* Develop briefings, white papers, and other documentation regarding JDDE governance and material distribution processes and initiatives
* Assist Sabel and/or Government lead in overall program management activities, as requested
* Other duties as assigned



Your Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or related scientific or technical discipline
  • 10 years of experience working in military logistics and/ or supply chain management processes and procedures at the Strategic, Operational and Tactical levels
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to present complex ideas succinctly for senior leadership
  • Demonstrates data visualization skills and ability to present data analysis in intuitive graphical and tabular formats for delivery to senior leadership
  • Proven ability to gather information using quantitative and qualitative research methods from internal and external resources such as interviews, policy, doctrine, SOP, analyst reports, and information databases
  • Proven ability to evaluate existing capabilities and establish new systems and processes for the tracking, measurement, reporting, and analysis of distribution and supporting systems operations
  • Proven ability to observe distribution systems or processes in operation and gather and analyze
  • information about each of the parts of component problems, using a variety of sources
  • Prepare management reports defining and evaluating problems and recommending solutions
  • Project Management Professional Change management experience
  • Demonstrates Continuous Process Improvements (CPI) experience in coordinating and executing logistics education and training at the tactical level
  • Proven skills in planning, organizing, and leading supply chain teams for development and implementation of proposals that involve substantial resources, requirements for extensive changes in established work processes and operations
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Marine Corps structures, missions and programs for organizations involved in logistics activities
  • Demonstrates knowledge of U.S. Navy doctrine, logistics structure, processes and command inter-relationships
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is desired.
