As part of ASTM, the Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL) has been serving the materials testing industry since 1929 through our laboratory inspection and proficiency testing programs. CCRL is the recognized leader in ensuring quality and integrity of concrete and cement material.


The Role

CCRL is actively seeking Lab Inspectors to conduct inspections of construction materials testing laboratories throughout the United States and Canada. Inspections will include a review of equipment, test procedures, and quality systems through mechanical measurements and observations. This is an ideal opportunity for new graduates seeking to begin their careers or those individuals seeking a career change. CCRL supports our Lab Inspectors with an intensive 6-month training period in our Frederick Maryland offices while you learn the role requirements

Note the Lab Inspector requires frequent travel with a revolving schedule of onsite in our Frederick, Maryland office and field travel throughout the US. Independent travel will be approximately 25 weeks per year.

  • Desire to be out of the office and traveling the country as part of your work experience
  • Want to be part of the 100-year tradition in setting the standards for essential building material


What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or STEM field or AA degree with 3-5 years related work experience
  • Ability to obtain security assurance clearance
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to maneuver testing equipment in tandem with the manual dexterity to operate test equipment and other relevant devices
