*Desired work location for this role is at our home office in Milwaukee, WI (hybrid), however the team is also open to considering fully remote candidates.

Summary

In partnership with senior members of compensation team, manages compensation programs such as market pricing activities, salary survey administration, Workday advanced comp module management, and annual compensation processes. Manages and coordinates compensation team administration including communications, timelines and Workday related tasks.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

* Participates in salary surveys to maintain current competitive data, analyzes the results, communicates and explains outcomes

* Partners with market pricing system vendor to ensure ease of administration and data validation

* Organizes, reports and analyzes compensation data from internal systems

* Conducts analytical assignments involving the development, implementation and administration of compensation programs

* Supports the annual compensation process including planning, execution and communication

* Administers compensation-related Workday tasks

* Manage Compensation DC pages partnering with communications and compensation teams ensuring up-to-date content

* Coordinate compensation unit communications and training

* Administers and coordinates compensation unit planning and deliverables

* In partnership with more experienced compensation staff, manages and owns projects and components of larger programs

* In partnership with Compensation business consultants, may price jobs, analyzes alternatives, and recommends solutions that balance the needs of the client and the policies of the organization

* In partnership with more experienced compensation staff, may work with reorganization of work groups and individual job design in order to enhance job architecture and other compensation-related outcomes.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in business or related field with course work in statistics or equivalent

* Two years of previous experience in compensation, HR, accounting, financeor a related field

* Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to make decisions when dealing with complex information and concepts

* Demonstrated experience with HRIS compensation-related functions/operations, Workday preferred

* Strong organizational skills, with the ability to independently set priorities, manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines

* Ability to work with general direction to scope, plan and manage cross-department or multi-department projects

* Demonstrated experience/knowledge in processes and project management to include analysis and documentation

* Demonstrated ability to lead and manage low- to mid-complexity assignments

* Extensive experience and proficiency using Excel is required

* Demonstrated superior interpersonal skills; ability to impart technical concepts, gain rapport and persuade when dealing with all levels of employees

* Demonstrated strong written/oral communication skills in a business or technical environment

* High degree of personal initiative and motivation

* Ability to interpret the union contract and federal legislation related to compensation matters

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$59,150.00

Pay Range - End:

$109,850.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an in dividual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Please note that the salary range listed in the posting is the standard pay structure. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
