Our Communications Department is seeking a Technical Operations Specialist to be part of our Operations and Finance team and in partnership with our Technology Manager, to provide project management for our IT. In this role, you will serve as a hands-on technician on various IT systems as well as a project manager for technical work.

As a Technical Operations Specialist...

  • Your will be responsible for IT Operations for the critical department systems under the direction of the Technology Manager. These duties will include:
  • Maintaining technology needs in classified spaces in partnership with the classified support team.
  • Managing Operations of 3 Virtual Machines running licensing software.
  • Tracking the software licensing costs, seats, and renewals for the department software.
  • Executing the Technology Roadmap with the Technology Manager.
  • Responsible for small local fiber network and fiber drops for staff.
  • Maintain the technology equipment closet and inventory.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in a technical field (information systems, engineering, computer science, or related area) or 4 years of IT work experience.
  • Have networking fundamentals and experience working with network switching equipment.
  • Strong analytical, multitasking, and social skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships within teams and across the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments, communicate progress to stakeholders, and provide timely work.
  • Solid sense of excellence in customer service with evidence of follow-through and completing tasks.
  • Shown success with conflict resolution and demonstrable people leadership skills.
  • Are able to obtain Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Have a Master's degree in a technical field (information systems, engineering, computer science or related area).
  • Have at least 5 years of project management experience or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Have CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certifications.
  • Hold an active Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
