Summary:

The Web Developer is responsible for recommending and implementing Internet communications strategies, as well as following up with associated analytics to evaluate effectiveness. Content creation and web design are constituents of the role. Extensive collaboration with the DOI/IA business lines to ensure DOI/IA websites are current, informative, engaging, and effective is required

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

    Assess DOI/IA websites on an ongoing basis to recommend and implement changes for continuous enhancement.
  • Collaborate with business lines to design, maintain, create new information and innovate; create and update information on the Internet and Intranet websites.
  • Plan, design, develop, test, and implement Internet and Intranet websites, including application development and technical management of web site currently using the DOI/IA Drupal web content management systems.
  • Document current procedures that relate to these tasks listed in this task. Work with other staff in developing and documenting new procedures for these tasks listed in this task.
  • Implement custom content types in Drupal. Assign permissions in Drupal for specific user groups.
  • Install Drupal modules as required
Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Have experience with utilizing Drupal Content Management System Be proficient with automation servers for continuous integration and delivery such as Jenkins, Docker, Git, and deploying applications.
  • Be proficient with JavaScript, CSS, and PHP Able to plan, design, develop, test, implement, and manage the Internet, Intranet, Wiki, and Social Media activities, including application development and technical management of web sites.
  • Must be familiar with implementing, migrating, and integrating content management systems; specifically Drupal.
  • Knowledge of Internet security principles and protocols, usability concepts, i.e. navigational aids, site architecture, knowledge management, and information delivery systems that enable all potential users to access information contained on the Web pages.
  • Experience using common graphic design tools including Adobe Photoshop Adobe Illustrator and Gimp.
  • Knowledge of standards of user experience design and experience working with application developers to integrate web applications a plus.
  • Knowledge of current Web-based application and accessibility technologies, U.S. copyright laws, accessibility factors including those specified in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (as amended in 1998) to advise on the appropriate use of copyrighted material and ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Working knowledge of NodeJs, Git, Chrome, Jenkins, and SEO marketing techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or combination of education and experience 5 years experience in development
  • 2 years experience in Quality Assurance testing.
  • Must have at least 2 years' of experience and proficiency in Drupal, HTML5, CSS2/3, JavaScript, PHP, Python, and jQuery. Laravel and Symphony PHP web application development along with CMS development experience, including Drupal 8 or 9, Concrete5, and eZ Publish.
  • Experience with Client Advocate work on Episerver, including other CMS projects, along with feature testing, accessibility and performance audits.

The salary range for this position is $95,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually.
