SCCI is currently seeking a System Tester to join our team in support of the Battle Management System (BMS) family of projects. In this position, you will work collaboratively with multiple technical teams to plan, execute, and report results of test and evaluation of the systems and products of the project teams within the BMS portfolio. The execution framework is a Rapid Development Process, and this position has a focus on software testing. You will be tasked with the development and testing with the goal of ensuring the products are comprehensively defined and understood before delivery to the warfighter. Testing will be conducted both in the labs and in the field. The objective is improving the speed, efficiency, and accuracy of validation to empower delivery of the highest quality products and capabilities to the warfighter quickly. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with hardware and software engineers to support the development of testable requirements and project test strategies
  • Develop and document methodologies for weapon systems integration and verification
  • Execute evaluations of weapon control systems during development and prior to formal release both in the laboratory and in the field
  • Work collaboratively with engineers and developers on issues found during testing; Document, and deliver the results through reports and tickets
  • Provide expertise in support of the installation and assessment of the system conducted locally and remotely
  • Engage in collaboration with the BMS team through regularly scheduled meetings

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline; or equivalent experience such as direct hands-on experience with a weapon system application; or a military training background
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or systems engineering
  • Experience with test and evaluation demonstrating the ability to design, implement and execute manual and automated test procedures as well as the ability to use test tools to perform requirements verification, environment validation and system performance testing
  • Experience with testing DoD Weapon Systems
  • Experience documenting and communicating complex systems or procedures
  • Ability to work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, and military personnel in developing testing strategies and detailed test procedures, based on system requirements
  • Ability to understand and convey complex technical concepts in a logical and straightforward manner
  • Ability and willingness to travel once every 3 months or less in support of remote system events
