Under broad supervision, the Systems Engineering Lead plans develops, coordinates, and directs a variety of complex engineering tasks. Manages systems engineering activities, including safety, security, cybersecurity, and reliability requirements. This position coordinates work with multidisciplinary teams (chemical, structural/civil, mechanical, I&C, electrical, HVAC). Leads major projects and assures work is performed in compliance with technical requirements, budget, and schedule.
Objectives:
1. Coordinates all engineering work, including establishing control and maintain requirements, overall technical solutions, safety basis, development of procedures, definition and acquisition of required tools, materials, etc. while keeping projects within budget and schedule.
2. Performs functional analysis and documents the functional allocation to systems and subsystems.
3. Ensuring that interfaces between Structures, Systems and Components (SSCs) are understood, captured, and documented.
4. Defines and forecasts the necessary skills and work arrangements to support the objectives of projects.
5. Supervises and coordinates day-to-day operations of engineers, designers, engineering technicians, and others who assist in completion of specific project assignments.
6. Represents the Company in communication with other organizations to resolve questions, plan, and coordinate work.
7. Proposes plans and cost improvement programs that allow projects to achieve business objectives.
8. Supports schedules and cost performance, provides status reports, identifies deviations, and proposes recovery plans.
9. May carry out a variety of tasks in support of planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and plant operation and maintenance.
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher-level position.
BS in Engineering or other technical field, plus 7-10 years related experience.
An advanced degree (MS or MBA) may substitute for 1-2 years and (PhD) may substitute for 2-3 years of related work experience.
In applicable states a PE license will be accepted in lieu of a 4-year engineering degree.
Differentiating Qualifications:
Leadership experience and experience training early career engineers. Project management and systems engineering experience. Knowledge of the 10CFR70 License application process.
Skills and Knowledge:
Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques, and criteria.
Strong communication skills and the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
Ability to maintain and develop strong interpersonal relationships.
Engineering organizations may have additional qualification requirements with established criterion to demonstrate success including but not limited to training courses and qualification cards.

Salary range annually: $140-180k
