Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a System Engineer to assist in the design, development, and testing of Next Generation SIGINT architecture. This position is focused on the end-to-end engineering of interfaces, both internal and external, and architectural level system engineering activities. Work will also include definition and management of system requirements, CONOPs and verification and validation activities. The preferred candidate should be able to work and function in a dynamic environment where requirements can change according to the customer needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required with fifteen (15) years' related SE experience. Four (4) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum 15 years' experience as a System Engineer supporting system and software architecture development, requirements analysis, designing complex collection systems, process execution and evaluation (including supervision of engineering projects), selections and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools and test integration
  • Demonstrated experience with Linux-based platforms (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, Fedora), command line utilities, and shell scripting (e.g. bash, Perl, Ruby, Python)
  • Experience working within a software development framework
  • Experience using configuration management and software build tools
  • Experience building SQL databases and developing queries
  • Understanding and application of standard data interchange formats such as JSON, XML, SOAP
  • Hands on Lab experience including cabling and configuring of switches, networking devices, fiber optics, and traffic generators
  • Familiarity with a range of test equipment and platforms including signal generators, optical switches and network analysis tools
  • Understanding of network communications (e.g., OSI model), communication protocols (Ethernet, TCP, UDP, etc.), network security infrastructure (IPsec, MACsec, TLS, etc.), and network sockets programming
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with set up, configuration, and use of test devices and equipment
  • Familiarity with high-speed digital signal transmission standards (e.g., Ethernet, OTN, SDH)
  • Understanding of Web-based Technologies: HTML, Apache/Tomcat, JSP, Perl CGI
  • Should be able to work and function in a dynamic environment where requirements can change according to the customer needs

Target Salary Range
$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
