This exciting new position will lead and solicit for the American College of Cardiology’s (ACC) non-CME Foundation and Federal grants to achieve the College’s strategic and financial objectives.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develops annual foundation and federal grant fund raising goals to achieve the College’s revenue and program targets in non-CME related areas
  2. Cultivates, and solicits portfolio of partners and prospects for the ACC’s research and product support. To include: prospecting, proposal preparation and submission for all Foundational grants that are Non-CME related.
  3. Responsible for significant grant revenue from foundations and federal government to maintain existing research and products
  4. Leads, implements and monitors short- and long-term strategies for foundation relationships with the ACC to achieve and grow the revenue targets
  5. Reviews, monitors and implements policy changes for foundation relationships with the ACC.
  6. Works with business line leads and other ACC staff to develop their budget and grant/promotional revenue projections and priorities
  7. Utilizes knowledge of Foundation and Government market intelligence for strategic planning of ACC activities and initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  1. Must have degree with 8 years relevant experience including fundraising, grant writing, project management, and sales.
  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including spelling, grammar, and proofreading. Ability to draft grant proposals, RFPs, and other correspondence and make presentations to VIP audiences.
  3. Experience reviewing and accessing OMB Circulars for potential grant opportunities.
  4. Excellent organizational skills and ability to efficiently coordinate and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  5. Ability to sell support of Colleges programs to a variety of clients and meet sales goals.
  6. Attention to detail and accuracy in all assignments. Ability to work under pressure to meet rigid deadlines.
  7. Good judgment/decision making skills. Ability to handle sensitive issues professionally and initiate new activities as needed.
  8. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a team environment and work well with professionals in a challenging and fast-paced work environment.
  9. Ability to undertake complex, substantive tasks with minimal supervision.
  10. Ability to effectively provide guidance to less senior staff in various task areas.
  11. Capacity for innovative thinking and creative strategizing to invigorate efforts towards enhanced profitability.
