Credit Analyst

Severn Savings Bank, FSB is a full-service community bank offering a wide array of personal and commercial banking products as well as residential and commercial mortgage lending. It has assets approximately 1 billion and four branches located in Annapolis, Edgewater, and Glen Burnie Maryland.

Severn is seeking to hire a Senior Credit Analyst,  the overall responsibility  of the position is to analyze and monitor the financial status of potential customers, existing borrowers, and the bank’s loan portfolio as a whole. This professional will have direct interaction with customers, lenders, and bank executives. The primary duties of the position include:
 

• Analyze new and existing speculative real estate requests for loans ranging from $250,000 to $3,000,000.
• Review credit files of existing relationships to include updating borrower’s financial and construction progress information.
• Review appraisals in accordance with Severn’s established guidelines.
• Perform annual reviews of borrower relationships concluding with a Risk Rating recommendation.  
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of various borrower, construction project, and portfolio measurement and tracking reports

 The qualified candidates will possess the following KSAs:
 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or finance.
• 5+ yrs experience in the banking industry or related field with a concentration in Commercial Real Estate (CRE)
• Ability to read, interpret and analyze customer financial statements/data.
• Strong Organizational skills.
• Detail Oriented.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written format.
• Intermediate proficiency on keyboard and ability to learn a variety of financial software
